Not now…..I am blogging
You know that you are suffering from blogOmania or a severe case of blog addiction when
—you ask your new neighbor their screen name and prefer calling them in abbreviated forms like IHM, DI, UI, OG.
—instead of real name you call your child Peanut, Brat, Poohi and their teacher just stares at you.
—you take a notepad, pen and flashlight to the theatre and note down each dialogue so that you can write a movie review.
—instead of bed coffee you ask for your laptop or get up and go straight to switch on your laptop/PC and read comments before even going to the bathroom.
—on the form where they ask your spouse’s name, you fill in as ‘the other half’, ‘Missus’, ‘Pati’.
—when someone calls or e-mails, you ask them to leave a comment or subscribe to your RSS feed.
—you go on a vacation only to blog about it.
—you postpone meetings to finish tags.
—you forget your wife’s birthday but remember number of readers on your feedburner.
—instead of actual hugs you draw curly parenthesis in the air like {{}}
—your child walks for the first time and instead of holding him you run to blog about it.
—you smile and wink thinking about a blog post while talking to your boss (outcome could be a pink slip or something else
)
—you forget to bathe for couple of days because you were blogging continuously.
Does any symptom fit you? Then immediately blog about it. You are anyways an addict so one more won’t hurt or add to this list.
And………
if you are reading this on a Friday night or on a weekend then you are a confirmed addict.
Kuch lete kyun nahin?

I am an addict…. and a gone case…. completely and I can relate to so many of the above…
you smile and wink thinking about a blog post while talking to your boss –
dont wink but do smile… !
(the boss just came, and i minimised the window… whew… close escape)
when someone calls or e-mails, you ask them to leave a comment
i m obsessed…
you postpone meetings to finish tags. – anytime..
I never used to use the PC at home… as it was time for the kid and wifey… but i m trying my level best to get my wife into blogging !!!!
Now when I get up for the match at 3.30 am… no one is up at that time… I immediately connect to the net and m here….
Suddenly the commentator speaks loudly and I notice a wicket fell, thats when I look up to see the match ….
now I hope I am certified addict !!!
Proud one at that ! dont know why though
I am first rite ??
yay yay ….
At times I go away from reader… just to let things happen… let people update blogs, comment and reply to my comment…
i recheck my comments every 2 mins… and replies to my comments all the time… !
ha haha !!
or in my case.. when you lose mobile you wonder how to blog about it
I am an addict
LOL!!
In my defense, it’s saturday afternoon and blogging is a must on Saturday afternoons!!
I actually wrote a blog post in my client place where I had to wait for an hour as the meeting was postponed!!
Don’t even try this: Buy a touch screen phone with bigger display (like HTC P3400i) and read/comment on other blogs via the mobile google reader. It is highly addictive. And follows you where ever you go! Iam doing it right now while waiting for a friend on the way to Big bazaar!!!
Destination Infinity
i am a Blogaddict i admit.
what are you..? posting it on a weekend..?
LoL at {hugs} and the boss
great one..
haan haan! count me in… most of above sypmtoms!
and am on terminal stage of anticipation coz i’ve had the most hectic week n couldn’t really follow up on the blogs i read or put up a new post
bachhao!!!!!
lol,I have passed all those stages
Hahaha..I don’t suffer from BlogOmania..!!Thank God..!!
But I do open my blog in office, and I am reading your post on a weekend. Other than that, flat no!:-)
- When you compose a 55er in your head, and count words while drifting off to sleep!
Solilo !!! You have listed out all my symptoms!!! Have to get off the comp, if I don’t want to get disowned by my husband and daughter
Will come back later (read – sneak back later- when he is not looking!) and reply in detail
{{{hugs}}}
Bang on target! And yes you can count me in
how about postponing to eat or cook? I have done it…seriously! If imp does not bother me, i can go on and on…
Also when you click each and every moment of your life(howsoever nano it might be) through your camera, not because you want to capture that moment, but you want to BLOG about it:D
Ha! Ha!
Most of the above symptoms fit me…I dream about blogging too!
Another blogaddict signing in
Yes to all… and it’s acquiring epidemic proportions when I want to remember everything i do , so I can blog about it
!
Thankfully I have yet to give in to that urge, but i know for a fact that one day I shall buckle under the pressure
!
Keep them coming, Solilo… you’re getting us to really do self discovery
Haaaaaaaaaaai, I am doing all the things you wrote just now. I posted 3 blogs today and one is utter flop….
I should have gone to the dentist today. But thought I will write today and canceled the appt. Got the next appt. for next Wednesday…!
Weekend…? You are doing it! And Dhiren..
‘Suddenly the commentator speaks loudly and I notice a wicket fell, thats when I look up to see the match ….
now I hope I am certified addict !!!
I am catching up….had lunch at 3 pm instead of 1.30p.m. I need more time to edit too…because I am going to be in the learning stage for, may be..one more year?!
My temple blog is just that. I wrote down some points from the guide! Jotted down some points at night at the hotel (3 am!) . My son tells everyone….’my mom is in front of her PC whenever I go home! She has forgotten the word ‘baking’..only jhut phut khana’.
My relatives are complaining, it seems…’after Sandhya has started blogging, she doesn’t call me often! Or she cuts the dialogues in half way, saying ‘my mobile is calling..’
I think all are posting blogs here, instead of commenting, solilo!
Very good post and I will remember it always… I was laughing loudly, sitting alone here in front of my pc, reading your blog! Everything is ssssoo familiar!
instead of bed coffee you ask for your laptop or get up and go straight to switch on your laptop/PC and read comments before even going to the bathroom.
I thought nobody knew of this secret.
Cool list! It IS an addiction indeed…
Ha! Thanks for the laugh, Solilo!
LOL!! Solilo!

All the symptoms fit to the T
The first one is so hilarious!
I mean now I don’t even blink once while calling people Alphabets instead of names
LOL@Peanut and others
yeah Solilo:D
Ye kya hai?Peanut will have an identity crisis if you keep doing that
umm 3rd and 4th Let’s just skip that shall we?
*tries not to look guilty*
missus and pati I have no idea…:D hmmm though I am thinking of PP
pati parmeshwar LOL! *running before someone bashes me*
”you forget your wife’s birthday but remember number of readers on your feedburner”
reminded me of Dhiren
LOL@curlies and hugs

You wicked woman! You started it all!
You started the hugs on the blogosphere
your child walks for the first time and instead of holding him you run to blog about it.
LOL!!:D
if you are reading this on a Friday night or on a weekend then you are a confirmed addict. Kuch lete kyun nahin?
Aapne kuch liya?
i never forgot my wife’s budday….
I forgot her !!
LOL!
yeah and thats why I think that you could have temporary amnesia when you already had the bigger one
LOL!:D
LOL! Really well described!
“your child walks for the first time and instead of holding him you run to blog about it.” Nothing can beat this!
hehehe…I think whoever blogs has to be an addict:) It’s addictive, kya karen? Kuch lete kyun nahin? Blogger ka tonic Blinkara (after Cinkara in Hamdard ad)) zaroor lenge hum:)
You are right. Before I realized,I had already become an addict.I ,actually spend as much time as I can on my laptop.Well,I suppose one should enjoy this .
I loved this oe Solilo. I am still grinning from ear to ear. So many of them describe me to the T, especially the one about putting on the PC first thing in the morning. Superb.
How very true!
Whenever i am out i have my camera with me, always on the lookout for a new blog post lurking somewhere in the background. The wife hates it!
lol, yesyes, we are confirmed addicts alright.
When you get an email from a ‘real’ person in the real world, you jolt and go – ‘O yeah, I remember her now!’
:p
Lol i am also blog addicted. The first thing i do after getting up is switch on the internet connection, switch on the laptop then go to loo.
If hubby is around then go to kitchen,if he is not there start checking the blogs.
Always want kids to sleep in the afternoon so that i blog.In a way forcing them to sleep for good 3-4 hrs.
you forget to bathe for couple of days because you were blogging continuously— who is this??
My daughter ask me this–”BLOGGING STARTED”(when ever she sees me in front of the laptop)While writting this comment, she is next to me and telling ur blogging started amma.
If i don’t see my food blog for one day,i will become very restless till i check my blog.
Happy blogging
I am loving
So I am not the only one! I think a point comes in our blog-life when we all write about blogaddiction, I did too and some other, older bloggers said they had felt the same way
I switch on the laptop before switching on the tea kettle.
Today while driving my daughter back from school, I was gushing over the lovely summer colours on flowering trees, and she asked if I would like to stop and take some pictures for my blog. I actually did.
But it’s great to know there is company
BTW Absolutely delightful, hilarious post, just loved it
I’m nearly there….! LOVE this post…made me smile and my mom yell at me for staring at the pc AGAIN!
LOL Solilo….

I am still not get out of the hangover of the net connection in my home.. So still browsing every possible site and downloading the torrents..
I have already posted about that..
I am too much addicted.. even watching the news is to put some post on my blog..
Great post
hmm…reading the above comments , most of you are going through this…but in my case , I am facing the syndrome of actually getting bored reading too many blogs(ya! that should be entered into the blogger ripley’s
)
So you people always think of how you are going to present something as a post hu? LOL, that happens to me only when I can’t sleep but then too it is not about blogging but things in general lesser of a post, more of my head churning off(
I couldn’t resist reacting on all your comments
)
why isnt solilo responding…
no interaction ??
Saturday highs >??
??
yeah, same question here…..
I was busy over the weekend and then caught a throat infection now. Sorry guys! couldn’t join the fun banter here.
As soon as your husband leaves, you run for the computer and blog or check for comments or check out friends blogs…have a silly smile on your face, forever…be it at office or at home. Yeah, Solilo…we are all hooked to this!Loved it…luv u too1
Lol i just did this today……
Ha Ha.. fummy!!
.”…you forget to bathe for couple of days because you were blogging continuously…”
“”…..you forget your wife’s birthday but remember number of readers on your feedburner….””
ha ha
Solilo… LOL great read…. it seems that I am suffering from an acute contagious case of the same……
last week, when I was writing an official mail to my Boss ka boss, I ended the mail with:
Regards,
OG
I am not kidding….
i felt so foolish…. but thanks god that I found it before I sent the mail…..

ROFL, hilarious! Esp. Run to blog about your child’s first step!!

Sitting at home vlog-surfing on Sunday before i head out though!

Am not am not…yay!!!!!
Cool fun post
he he, Solilo, you’re every blogger’s alter ego!!!
You go to a vacation only to blog about it.
Yeah, actually while making vacation plans, u start thinking, what destination would look good on ur blog he he.
“read comments before even going to the bathroom”
Creepy how similar all of us are – attention craving maniacs…
Lately however, some sense has prevailed and haven’t been around as frequently… I guess, its during the initial stages… like every other craze.
your child walks for the first time and instead of holding him you run to blog about it.

I don’t know if I will ever stop laughing!!!
///you go on a vacation only to blog about it.
I have done that!!
Ha..ha..ha.. Thanks everyone for agreeing with me.
and laughing along with me. I too am an addict and still am happy about it.
So subscribe to my RSS feeds, if you haven’t already because I am not going anywhere.
@Dhiren: You rechecked 25 times. Ha..ha..you are suffering from a severe case of addiction. Aapka kuch nahin ho sakta. Anyone got Blogger pills for our dearest Dhiru bhai?
@ Varunavi: A blogger had a post about ‘not bathing for 3 days’. So that’s where ‘you forget to bathe for couple of days because you were blogging continuously’, the thought came to me.
@OG : I saw your avatar and burst into laughter. You have your face pasted on Jayan’s caricature.
I am an internet addict! I can stare at google homepage when i don’t know what else to browse. The fact that I am reading this on a Sunday night (which still qualifies as a weekend) shows that I am an addict.
Cheers to that!
So true eh ! it is a mania if not treated immediately..
LOL, all points true, except taking bath
I forget meals because of blogging and I postpone my important chores for blogging !
Nah!! Not there yet… But won’t be far long!!
I guess, not having a computer at home, is a blessing in disguise…!!
This is so hilarious. I’m not an addict but getting there. Trying my best to put down some ground rules just so I don’t cross the line. But got no idea where the line is!
Great post.
LOL @ Dhiren above.
All points fit to me except blogging on weekends…this is the only thing i m still able to pull off
infact on friday i forget very important work coz i was writing a post on my blog….Good to know there are lot others like me
luvd the boss one
I’m an addict all right, but it’s been more about reading favorite blogs than blogging myself. But I’m getting there
thank God I escaped marginally as I read this on Monday
and I think blogging has inspired me to start clicking photographs. I am passionate about the blogging thing but not addict for now
Everything has been said and done by commenters above me. Hilarious and true post. Though, I don’t agree to that Friday and weekend thing.
mast post hai yaar. i am checking this on monday nite but i saw this post on saturday and badly badly wanted to read it then and there (so i do qualify as a blogaddict)but i could not do so…..booo hooo!!!!!!!so the comment comes now and i have a pile of work to be done but i have to have to comment so yippeee i am a blogaddict and so proud of it. lovely post solilo. keep writing.
Keep blogging ….. Never ever stop it my friend
Loved this post. This is my first time on your blog and I just now added you in my favorites. You got yourself another stalker dear. All the symptoms are true for me…and I am still smiling like a crazy woman while posting this comment. keep writing
me: Welcome NM. Stalker…ha..ha..a Welcome
omygod.. it seems in a very aggravated stage, this mania
Great post. We all suffer from this addiction at one point or the other. I am an addict, so much so that, I have to make a promise to myself every morning that I won’t read blogs for more than an hour. Jai Ho to blogger’s world!!!
I dodged all the symptoms smugly only to fall flat on my face at ur last line.
I read this post on Sunday night
Tried leaving you a comment then and got an error.
Dunno if people already added these but here are more symptoms drawn from my personal experience:
-If you read peanut, poohi, brat, pati and missus at spaces other than the ones dedicated to them, and know exactly who is being talked about you are an addict.
-If you ever exclaimed “Oh you do this…I know someone else in the same field” and that someone else is the husband of a blogger who you have never met and the blogger doesn’t know about your existence..you might be in need of help.
-If you ever debate with your husband on parenting and tell him he is so clueless because there was a debate on ‘exactly this’ that had rocked the mommy world a year back and everybody had the same view as urs and so u win and he loses, you stand a chance of losing his respect
And….
-If you start missing a regular reader( who has never commented so you have no idea who they are) when they don’t visit for 2 days.
-If you look at an IP address and can tell which reader it is, you might be addicted to checking you stats besides blogging:-)
What an entry? I am rolling in laughter.
Kuch liya?
Thank you all for proving that you all are an addicted lot just like moi.
lol!
U r hilarious aren’t u!!! this was amazing.. i am getting there.. only deterrent is Pati who hates my laptop!!
@you ask your new neighbor their screen name and prefer calling them in abbreviated forms like IHM, DI, UI, OG.
like _cc
You got me here, great catch, Solilo you and we need to condense our names morer
@instead of real name you call your child Peanut, Brat, Poohi and their teacher just stares at you.
will be so, proud
Peanut
@you take a notepad, pen and flashlight to the theatre and note down each dialogue so that you can write a movie review.
Ha ha ha ha you did this?
@on the form where they ask your spouse’s name, you fill in as ‘the other half’, ‘Missus’, ‘Pati’.
@when someone calls or e-mails, you ask them to leave a comment or subscribe to your RSS feed.
Ha ha ha this is so typical, I force people to visit my blog and sometime I secretly subscribe my friends to Google reader on their PC
@you go on a vacation only to blog about it. –
@You postpone meetings to finish tags.
Well Well Well Well .. yo do that !
@you forget your wife’s birthday but remember number of readers on your feedburner.
I will be assassinated
seriously dude
instead of actual hugs you draw curly parenthesis in the air like {{}}
{{:)}}

LOL! I am a confirmed addict too!! If interested, do read my Confession here: http://writerzblock.wordpress.com/2008/08/18/withdrawal-symptoms-%e2%80%93-a-housewife%e2%80%99s-tale/
me: Aren’t we all? Will check.
This is one super-duper post Solilo.
This takes the cake … ‘your child walks for the first time and instead of holding him you run to blog about it’
and yeah, I happen to put a smiley in one of my design docs too
Super amazing post! Loved it!
Hum aur humari blog-giri! Lolz
