Picture speak a thousand words
Indyeah gave me a picture perfect assignment. While tagging me she says “FIRST ONE is Solilo! Because I seem to have a connection with her. Her ‘Abhi’ always makes me smile!:) .”
Abhi is right. We do have a connection. The first time while exchanging comments we started chatting as long lost friends. It has to do with our similar backgrounds and upbringing, I guess. She keys down her thoughts from soul. I am sure once you visit Indyeah’s blog you would concur with me.
This is my first tag ever. I find this one really interesting and am glad it came from a person I am really fond of. So what do I do? I grab it the very instance I got it.
The rules are really simple and the best thing is you don’t have to think or write much. Just use Google chachi and post a picture. Still to be a bit more clear on the rules,
1. You will be given a set of questions.
2. Google the image which best suits the answer and post a picture from first page of image search with minimal explanation. As they say, picture speak a thousand words.
3. After you finish tag 5-6 other blogger friends and let them know.
So here I go…(Disclaimer: The pictures used here are from the result of google search and mainly for this tag purpose. I have no ownership over these and have no intention of violating copyright laws.)
1.Your age on your next birthday

30…ahem..1..ahem
2. A place you’d like to travel to
I have traveled to many parts of India but never North-East region. I would love to go there some time to meet the people, to learn their culture, language, food habits and to just enjoy the scenic beauty.
3. Your Favorite place

4. Your favorite food/drink

Being far away from home all I crave for is a traditional Kerala sadya (feast).

I love Cocktails and Margarita is my favorite. The picture here is of Raspberry Margarita.
5. Your favorite pet

I am allergic to most.
6. Your favorite color combination

I find Bluish White serene.
7. Your favorite piece of clothing

I am most comfortable in pajamas but my favorite piece of clothing is Skirts. I am waiting for Summer.
8. Your all time favorite song
Now this was difficult as it depends upon mood. So I listed the one which was probably my first favorite song. I remember sometimes in late 80s once Doordarshan had Raj Kapoor film festival and showed all B/W movies. This movie and song stuck with me. On a casual conversation with someone after that I mentioned this as my fav. song.
9. Your favorite TV show

I used to love Udaan starring Kavita Chaudhary and Shekhar Kapoor but I couldn’t find any pictures or video of the show.
and

10. Full name of your significant other

Let’s just call him ‘The Other half’
11. The town in which you live

Beautiful Oregon state
12. Your screen name/nickname
I couldn’t find a picture.
Oh boy! I should have chosen some good screen name. When they see Solilo which is short for Soliloquies, people think that it is a Spanish last name. Don’t have doubts there. I am an Indian living in US.
13. Your first job

Report Analyst with John Deere
14. Your Dream Job

Interior Decorator. I have helped my friends with choosing curios and designs to match their style. I love neatly decorated homes with personal touch.
15: Bad Habit you have

Absent-mindedness. I know some of you already know about this
16. Your worst fear

Losing a loved one
17. The one thing you would like to do before you die

Bungee jumping. I am sure I am never going to do it but still would love to if I ever get the courage.
18. The first thing you’ll buy if you get $1,000,000

Save it and use it for all my future vacations.
19.Your favourite credo in life.

Don’t waste it with redundant negativity.
Who do I tag?
Between Indyeah and Usha, they have tagged almost all bloggers whom I would have chosen too
. So not repeating them I choose these 6 blogger friends
Poonam, Nimmy, Shail, Kiran, Enchanted, Vimal (Each of them have a unique personality and I would love to know more about them through this tag.)
and anyone who is interested in doing it. There is no pressure. You guys take your own sweet time. Let me know after you finish it.

Indyeah!:)
Me: Abhi, Seeing your smiley attack I can say that you are Visheshified now Ha..ha. Vishesh is the one who uses maximum smileys hence the name.
Kalyani was awesome. I searched and searched but couldn’t find a single picture. Only one news that her real life sister is a DGP now. Aren’t skirts comfortable and beautiful?
oh dear god!look at the smilies!
didnt realize there were so many of them!they look scary now!
Me: As I said Visheshified Indy.
Great stuff…I particularly like the one about the fax in the toaster! And, of course, afetr a point, age is really no more than a number….that you want to forget?!!
Me: Yes! age is just a number once you hit 30
Gosh i am also supposed to do this one!! I should spend ten days only finishing these tags!
I love that song too…. and think where our TV serials have to from Udan and Pukar!
Me: IHM, you were first on my list as usual but then I saw Usha tagged you. I am eagerly waiting to read yours. Which one is Pukar? Don’t remember that. Isn’t it sad that all our serials are now reduced to Saas-Bahu and Pati? Progressive times.. Hmph!
Hehe… so I am tagged once again! Actually I am swamped under tags…but haven’t got around to doing them!!
You have done this one with panache.
Me: Oh! you already tagged for this one? Thanks.
Hey hey Solilo.that was really interesting..Trust me,way before i saw my name,i felt that you were going to tag me,honestly i felt so..Hmm,some telepathy is action
Will surely do the tag..
p.s: I like your atitude, indeed vibrant and positive..I won’t say that i understand the whole of you as a person by just reading a few lines, but still,i feel good that i am your friend
Bye bye
Me: I am not surprised as even once before both of us wrote a post on almost similar theme and when I saw yours published, I didn’t bother to complete mine. Good! am already looking forward to yours. Thanks yaar
Nicely done. BTW u have a problem with using a copyrighted cartoon. I had once received an email from cartoonstock guys. Since then I stopped using their cartoons.
Me: Welcome Reema. That’s what came to my mind when I saw this tag as this asks for google pictures which obviously isn’t ours. That’s why I posted the disclaimer too before I started the tag. I have seen on some discussion forums which I am part of, members remote link to cartoon stock. Did you? Anyways I e-mailed them that the picture was used just for fun purpose and not for any commercial use.
There is no other way to do this tag
Best thing is to not remote link and steal anybody’s bandwidth.
Your dream job is mine as well
lol @ the toaster thing…I also have been tagged for this one…need to do it
Me: Looking forward to yours.
Loved it
There is this quietude that stems from the words and pictures [even bungee jumping, would you believe] a dash of tongue in cheek humour
and also gentle fun!
Hmmm dream job vs the one you have is an interesting combo..
Enjoyed reading this!
Usha: I don’t know if I will ever be able to bungee jump. Too scared. Hope I get the courage for that one day
onam sadhya is my favvvvvvv too
Me: I miss simple vegetarian Kerala meal though I try to make all this during Vishu and Onam still nothing tastes like the one back home
I liked the pic number 16 and the message what you wanted to connote. TC and keep blogging!
Me: Thanks
Lovely!
Bungee jumping eh?! I would be too damn scared!
Me: I am a scary cat myself. Hope I can some day.
loved all of it!
Me: Thanks NM
Hey one more thing Solilo, do aim for bunjee jumping…. aim for “Sky Diving”….
it is the ultimate….. i can say that coz i did that a couple of months back…..
you have to experience it……
http://quintessentialhope.blogspot.com/2008/11/how-i-felt-like-peregrine-falcon-and.html
and yes, i did get onam sadhya here in LA this year (2008) …. we have a kerala association of Los Angeles…. (KALA)….
here
Me: I am just too scared. I need to wish for courage to do that
Very Nice!
Udaan was such a gem of a TV show. As was Bharat ek Khoj!
Me: that was before Ektasization of TV.
That was interesting!
I have done a similar tag here: http://alchemistpoonam.wordpress.com/2008/07/09/flickr-mosiac-tag/
But I will do this one too, but in some time. I hope that is ok with you?
Me: Poonam, Take your time. As I mentioned, no pressure at all.
and yes, discovery of India was a great programme… really super !
Me:
Thanks for your comment, you made my day!!!!
And I wish: You’re age stops at 30, (Well i would have said, 21 or 25 but you mentioned 30
) year old Report Analyst with John Deere, who travel to kerala for Sadya, and win a Dvd cover of all the episode of ‘All in the family’! Hey isn’t Number crunching opposite to interior decorating!!! And Absent-mindedness is a sign of Genius
Me: Ha..ha..ha.. Revenge.
hey, u worked with John Deere?
They were our clients in my first job
Me: Yep! I reported to Charles Finney. Small world indeed
hey awesome it was….very nice tag….i have done a similar one as u knw! I njoid reading this!
and somehow i am not getting ur feed updates in my reader…..[grrrr]
Me: Oh why?
hey bout that feed and rss… can you help me with it.. how do i actually do it ?? no clue really !
Me: Sure! let me post on your blog in a bit.
Hey,I’ve done the tag too!You like malayali sadya too!So we hve somethng in common.YaY!!!Bungee-jumping,eh??Even thinking about it gives me shivers!
Loved the tag,Solilo(smiling)..nope,I wont use another smiley now, you’ve already been swamped enough!
Me: All of us start missing our traditional food when we move away. Don’t we?
Our TV serials were going fine even when Zee TV initially started. There were some good ones like Daraar, Parampara, Siddhi and Trikal. But the moment Balaji came, television turned into a nightmare.
It was great!
Even I want to do Bungee jumping!!!
And I was in Munnar last year and had a great Kerala feast there!
Me: I have never heard of those shows. I was never an avid TV watcher but yes! Ektacization of TV spoiled everything. The standard is set to mediocre and now even the good ones don’t work anymore because people are so used to this mediocrity.
Lovely one
I did it too some time ago. Btw have you done CSS upgradation for this template or is it one of the wordpress has offered ? Looks more like a blogspot blog
Me: Welcome Bluemist. This one is 3 column theme by Andreas09 on wordpress
. I too think Blogger theme have variety.
i did this meme sometime back myself… i like fish too… used to have a small fish tank once..but then the task of maintaining it was handed over to me… n soon enuf we had no fish n no tank!
Me: Ha..ha..
loved it, lady. u’re in oregon? we gotta talk on fone sometime and then prolly get together for cocktails …. heheh
lovin the song !! vah mahua vah. :p
love blue/white combo too … although yellow/white is more appealing to me … i like pink/white too hmmm
hate fish hate fish hate fish.
would love to go to northeast too hehe
okie those are all the things i feel strongly about
really lovin’ the song.
Me: You too? Give me a holler.
Thanks for tagging me ! Will come out with it soon.
No.3,14 and 16 were too good.
Looking forward to the tag
hey there are so many things i can directly use from your tag
but i will try to find different pictures.
Are u sure using pictures from net will not have any copyright issues?
Me: Naah! no cheating *where is my danda*
Everyone on the net has already done this tag. Add that disclaimer I did and then continue.
Nice to know more about u
Me: N, I believe Indyeah tagged you for the same. So looking forward to know you more too.

Done with the tag — http://vimalsparadise.blogspot.com/2009/02/19-19.html
Hello!
Very Interesting post! Thank you for such interesting resource!
PS: Sorry for my bad english, I’v just started to learn this language
See you!
Your, Raiul Baztepo
Cool! Nice to know few more things about you.
So, you are not that old.
I also love this song (duniya banane vaale).
I’m sure Oregon is very beautiful. American South has it’s own charm.
Oh, you worked for John Deere..so, is your area of work finance?
But, I think, you should pursue interior decoration if you really want to do that and feel it will give you more happiness. I’m sure you have flair for that.
Losing a loved one is the only fear I have.
